Procedures to Reset Oil Life Percentage on Olds Eighty Eight:

1997-1999

1. Display the “Oil Life Remaining” message in the Driver Information Center
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button (located in the glove box or under passenger side instrument panel) for more than 5 seconds, but no more than 90 seconds
3. The oil life will change to “100%” (or the “Change Oil Soon” light will go off)

1994-1996

1. Display the “Oil Life Remaining” message in the Driver Information Center
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the Driver Information Center for more than 5 seconds (on vehicles without DIC, use the TRIP reset stem for SET/RESET)
3. The oil life will change to “100%”

1995

1. Press and release the OIL button
2. Select the OIL menu by pressing the MODE button
3. Press and hold the RESET button for 5-7 seconds

1992-1993

1. Press and release the TEST button
2. Press the OIL button and release
3. Press and hold the RESET button for 5-7 seconds

1990-1991

1. Turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off
2. Press and hold the OIL and RESET buttons for at least 5 seconds
