Car How To is a site we built to help technicians along with the DIY guys. We want this site to be a full resource for anyone that is looking for automotive knowledge. Whether it is a mechanic stuck on a diagnosis and needs the advice from other techs, a DIY guy looking for a clear repair procedure, or a consumer looking to verify, or learn more about, something their mechanic told them. This site is for everyone. With that said, we are excited to announce a good amount of “how to’s” to be added in the coming weeks along with our our new help forum, “Ask a Mechanic” that launches today.

Our Ask a Mechanic section is exactly what you think it is. If you have a question feel free to follow the link here or in the top menu bar, find the category that you have a question about, and ask away. One of our ASE certified technicians will respond to your post shortly after with further questions, suggestions, test procedures, wiring diagrams, and TSB’s. Other members will post answers as well, which will be verified by us as useful information to ensure that you get the most accurate information regarding your vehicle. See the forum rules for any questions regarding what to post and where. Be sure to include your vehicle year, make, model and engine size. Also include the symptoms or issue that you are having, and what you’ve done so far.

We aim to make this community database just another tool for the professional mechanic, a useful resource for the DIY, and a place for the consumer to get more knowledge about what their local repair shop is actually doing. Education is key in getting the job done right and a customer feeling comfortable with purchasing repairs. We believe that this will be beneficial for everyone!

We anticipate a lot of participation and for the Ask A Mechanic forum to be a huge success. If you are a Mechanic and would like to be a part of this, feel free to contact us here.

Similarly, if there is anything else you would like to see on car how to, if you would like to become an author on the site or contribute in some way, or have a another question of any kind contact us here. Meanwhile, check out the forum, sign up, poke around, and help grow it with us for you!

Thank you all for your continued support.

  3. I have a Mahindra 2010 pikup scorpion it has a 2.5l crde engine and I would like to know what the
valve lash adjustments are on the intake and outlet valves on engine cold setting. I would really be thankfull for some advice as I believe i would have a better chance of getting hold of the original bible than finding a workshop manual for this vehicle.
