How To Reset BMW 1 Series Oil Service Icon for Years 2008 through 2013:
2008-2013
- Turn the ignition to the ON position with the vehicle off (close all doors and windows and put the vehicle in park)
- Press and hold the TRIP reset button for about 10 seconds until the first service job appears in the display
- Use the ROCKER switch located on the turn signal/main-beam switch to select the desired maintenance item to reset (oil can indicates the oil change)
- To reset, press and hold the on-board computer button on the turn signal/main-beam switch until the “RESET” message appears
- Resetting is confirmed by pressing the same button for a slightly longer period
* A clock is displayed during resetting
* A check/tick is displayed after “RESET” on successful resetting - Repeat the above procedure for any other services to be reset
