Oldsmobile Alero Oil Change Light Reset Procedures:
2004
- Turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off
- Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds of turning key
- Change Oil lamp will flash for 2-10 seconds while it resets
- Once it stops flashing, the maintenance light reset is complete
- Turn key to OFF position and then start engine to verify indicator is no longer illuminated
1999-2003
- Remove the instrument panel fuse box cover
- With the ignition switch in the ON position, depress the OIL RESET button until the Change Oil light starts to flash
- Release the button, then press and hold the button again until you hear the chimes sound and the Oil Change light goes off
