How to Reset Oil Life on Pontiac Firebird After Oil Change

Reset Oil Life on Pontiac Firebird:

1999-2002

1. Press the SETUP (or STATUS) button repeatedly until you see the “System Check” menu
2. Press the RESET button repeatedly until you see the “Oil Life XXX% Hold Reset New” menu
3. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds or until the display shows “If New Oil, Hold Reset”
4. Release, then press and hold the RESET button again until display shows “Oil Life Set To 100%”

1999-2000

1. Press the SETUP button until the display reads “Press Select To Begin System Check”
2. Press the SELECT button to display “Oil Life – Press Reset If New Oil”
3. Press and hold the RESET button until “Oil Life Start Value Set To 100%” is displayed
4. The oil life is now set to 100%
